Curtis Park

Denver’s first fashionable suburb, Curtis Park carries the distinction of age and architectural heritage with remarkable grace. Developed in the 1860s and 1870s when Denver was still finding its urban identity, the neighborhood is home to more than 500 structures listed on the National Register of Historic Places — a concentration of Queen Anne cottages, Victorian homes, and Italianate buildings that makes walking its streets feel like a living architectural tour unlike anything else in the city.

The Black American West Museum, housed in the former home of Dr. Justina Ford, tells the story of Denver’s diverse pioneers and adds significant cultural depth to the neighborhood’s identity. Today, Curtis Park blends deep history with an active, engaged community that values preservation as much as innovation. With 64 homes closing at an average of $727,455 in 2024 and a walk score of 93, the neighborhood offers some of Denver’s finest urban living — where history, community, and exceptional walkability intersect at a remarkable address just northeast of downtown.
